Testing Protocol:

Measure the maximum number of repetitions of a military-style push-up. The test begins with the athlete in upright position with arms fully extended. Athlete lowers body to at least 90 degree arm angle. No time limit, but the athlete can rest in upright position only.

Scoring Notes:

  • Count only full repetitions
  • No “head-bobbing” of any kind
  • Must raise to full extension and lower to proper angle
  • Warn athlete immediately when a rep is not valid
  • Count valid reps out loud
  • Cannot raise hips when resting
